Female jobseekers may be inspired to seek out work abroad and make international money transfers back to the UK in order to boost their careers.

New research carried out by NatWest has revealed that finding employment overseas has helped more than three quarters of women improve their work prospects.

In the fourth annual International Personal Banking Quality of Life Index carried out by the bank, 83 per cent of ladies said their careers have been fast-tracked after leaving the UK.

The findings proved to be true for those who were permanently based in a foreign country as well as individuals who merely spent some time working in various different nations on behalf of a UK company.

Women hoping to become more successful in their field may want to consider spending a couple of months per year working abroad and then make an online currency exchange when they return to Britain.

Of those questioned, 52 per cent of ladies who have been employed in foreign lands said the experience was better than they anticipated.

Dave Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, said: "With over half of women working abroad saying it exceeds their expectations, things are looking sunny abroad."

He added: "For women looking to fast track to promotion, moving abroad could be an option for them."

The highest rated countries as preferred by expat career women included Australia, Canada and the US.

However, the poll found that these nations do not correlate with the destinations that have the largest recruitment demand such as Asia and the Middle East.

The news follows recent comments by executive coach and change consultant at Change to Succeed Piya Khanna, who said that women need to take responsibility for their own success.
