International money transfers could become increasingly popular as interest in overseas property appears to be on the rise.
According to Rightmove Overseas, searches for property abroad increased by 1.2 per cent in March when compared with the previous month.
Valencia in Spain saw the biggest increase, with searches up by more than 166 per cent.
Meanwhile, Portuguese proved quite popular due to bargains available in its ailing economy.
Indeed, searches across the country rose by 14.36 per cent last month.
Shameem Golamy, head of the overseas section at Rightmove, commented: "The current climate means that if you are a buyer, you are spoilt for choice among the hundreds of properties with huge price reductions available all over the Mediterranean."
People keen to save money when buying foreign property can make use of international money transfers to access some of the most competitive currency exchange rates on the market.
