According to research conducted by LV=, only a fifth of Britons have achieved their travel ambitions, with 44 per cent of people still hoping that they will enjoy their perfect trip during their retirement.

In addition to this, just 33 per cent of people have had what they consider to be their ideal home.

However, as Ray Chin, head of pensions at LV= noted, you still need to work hard and save early to achieve your dreams.

"For many people, our golden years in retirement is when we see ourselves relaxing in a perfect home, and jetting off on dream holidays, but unless we start saving for retirement early, and put enough aside, these dreams will not become a reality," he remarked.
