Britons considering purchasing a property in the US might want to make use of international money transfers.
Using a foreign exchange broker to move money to the US in this way will help cut down costs.
Les Calvert, director of Property-Abroad.com, said that Miami property is set to be extremely popular with British buyers this year.
"There is the familiarity of Florida, the Disney theme park, [Brits] speaking the same language and there is the ease of buying a property there," he explained.
"It has always been a favourite with British buyers and, at these kinds of prices, it will continue to be so."
Mr Calvert added that prices in Miami and the other southern areas of the US are likely to "start to move" this year.
The comments follow the latest report from the National Association of Realtors, which found that existing home sales in the US fell in February this year after three consecutive months of rises.
