Could international money transfers help cover overseas wedding costs?

International money transfers could be needed to cover the expense of overseas weddings.

According to Philippa Onslow, media sales manager at Wedding TV, overseas weddings are becoming increasingly popular.

She added that this is particularly the case with this industry being the way it is and financial markets the way they are.

"It is much cheaper to get married abroad and you can still have such a beautiful wedding, so a lot of people are choosing that which is being reflected in the gowns," the expert noted.

However, last month research conducted by HSBC found that weddings are generally twice as expensive as people think they are going to be.

Indeed, the average amount people expect to pay is £8,627, while the actual average is £19,779.

If you are getting married overseas then it is likely to be even more important to keep an eye on the cost.

Getting a good deal on your foreign exchange will help to avoid excess spending fees and transfers.
