Britons planning to make an international payment on an investment property with good long-term prospects might want to consider Brazil as a destination.

According to property professionals uv10, the country represents a good market in which to invest as it is not an area where people buy a property just to sell on.

Doing this can cause the market to "overheat", Samantha Gore, sales manager at the firm, said.

"It is a long-term prospect. It is stabilising and matches what users are buying it for," she said of the country's investment property market.

Ms Gore went on to say that she expected the country's properties to rise in value.

"It is going up in value, but they are not selling on because people enjoy being in Brazil. The market has got proper legs," she concluded.

Recently, Paul Collins of BuyAssociation.co.uk suggested that buying a property abroad could be a good way of supplementing a pension, which may be good news for older Brits looking to make an international payment on an investment home.
