International money transfers could start to pick up again as people are beginning to consider buying overseas properties once again.
A Place in the Sun television presenter Amanda Lamb has said that initially buyers will stick with areas they consider to be safe.
"We've always had a love affair with France and that hasn't been affected," stated Ms Lamb.
She added that we are unlikely to see the "gold rush that we had at the beginning of the noughties for quite some while" but there is more confidence returning to the market.
Apart from France, Ms Lamb said that overseas property buyers should look at buying in Miami, Sarasota and Naples.
People who are looking to buy a house overseas might want to look into using a foreign exchange specialist to make international money transfers to France.
This will help them save money by accessing very competitive rates of currency exchange.
