International money transfers to Australia could become more popular with Britons trying to move abroad.

In a recent podcast for the Financial Times, the paper's specialist personal finance reporter Tanya Powley said that Australia has seen interest in moving down under more than double in January alone.

She added that New Zealand and Canada are close behind, "so obviously all the English-speaking countries where people tend to emigrate to" are still popular.

Climate is also proving to be a big draw, with people looking to escape the "January blues" in the UK.

If you are considering moving down under, setting up an international money transfer to Australia could help to lower your costs by avoiding the high foreign exchange fees often charged by high street banks for sending money internationally.

You will also receive some of the most competitive rates of currency exchange on the market.
