International money transfers could help British students who are on degree courses abroad.
Vincenzo Raimo, director of Nottingham University's international office, told the Telegraph that around 22,000 British students are currently studying abroad.
This represents approximately 1.7 per cent of the UK's entire student population who require foreign currency to pay their university fees, accommodation costs and daily living expenses.
International money transfers made through an independent foreign exchange broker can help move sterling to an overseas bank account with a competitive rate of currency exchange.
Mr Raimo told the paper: "Of course, in terms of sheer numbers there are far more Indian or Chinese students studying abroad.
"But in terms of percentages, we have a surprising number of students looking to experience higher education in a different country."
British students are spread fairly evenly around the world, however, Mr Raimo noted that there are a particularly high number in the US, France and Germany.
