Expatriates planning to move to Tokyo might want to look into international money transfers to keep rental costs down.
According to ECA International, the country is the most expensive in the world for expatriates to rent in.
Meanwhile, Moscow was identified as the most expensive city in Europe.
Expatriates in Tokyo were found to be paying an average of $4,352 (£2,713) a month in 2010.
Ensuring that you are moving money with a competitive rate of currency exchange can help to keep these costs as low as possible.
An independent foreign exchange broker can organise international money transfers for you to this end.
Overall, rental prices in Asia were found to have risen by an average of 19 per cent against the previous year.
The growth can be explained by strong economic growth in the region, ECA explained.
Meanwhile, Muscat was found to offer the lowest rents in the world.
