International money transfers to Crete could prove to be essential as the extra costs involved in purchasing a property can soon mount up.

According to estate agents Snobby Homes, agents on the Greek island tend to use the internet to promote their properties.

While prices can initially appear to be "very attractive", there are a number of substantial additional costs to factor in.

These include sales fees of up to 2.5 per cent that have to be paid by the buyer and the seller; but if the seller opts out then the buyer is left with a possible five per cent.

When you come to move money to Crete to cover the cost of purchasing a new home you could discover that currency exchange rates bump up the price even higher.

However, using a foreign exchange broker to make an international money transfer to Crete will minimise this as much as possible.

This is because, unlike high street banks, brokers do not tend to charge fees and will offer a very comeptitive currency exchange rate on top.
