The outlook for the new homes market in 2011 in positive, according to an expert, which could be good news for those looking to get on to the property ladder.
According to managing director at newhomesforsale.co.uk Vernon Pethard, there is renewed confidence about the state of the economy and that this remains even though lending conditions are still strict.
This news could also be encouraging to those looking to use international money transfer and buy a home abroad.
Commenting on the state of the property market, Mr Pethard said that some of the newfound confidence among buyers and sellers was down to the coalition government.
"The coalition government may be making some unpopular decisions, but there is a sense that problems that need tackling are being tackled, which adds a degree of confidence for homebuyers when compared with the uncertainties which abounded prior to the election," he commented.
Figures from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors published in early December suggested that house prices are set to drop by some two per cent next year.
