International money transfers to the Caribbean could be on the rise as a development in St Lucia has received a top award.

The Residences at Sugar beach was named Best International Property at the International Property Awards in London.

This marks the third such award given to the development; it was also dubbed Best Property in the Caribbean at the same awards.

Lisa Basire, marketing director of the properties, commented: "We have demonstrated the value of avoiding cutting any corners, even in the toughest economic climate for more than half a century.

"There is always a market for the highest quality properties."
