A firm specialising in international property investment has said that the feel-good factor of America's new president is responsible for an increase in the number of Britons looking to move to the United States.

According to Annette Reeve, director at Mayfair International Realty, new president Barack Obama has inspired overwhelming interest in the country by those looking to make an international payment on a new property.

"People see it as a great future, they are hopeful that he will make amends to the economy in the US which will benefit us all in the long-run," she said.

Ms Reeve went on to say that the president is someone who instigates admiration in others.

"He has a fairly good feel-good factor. He's young; he's got a wife and young kids. He is someone that people look up to," she explained.

A BBC survey has found that America is one of the most popular destinations for Britons to choose to emigrate to after Australia, Canada and Spain.
