International money transfers to Brazil could be on the rise as the effects of the World Cup look set to boost property prices.

A recent survey conducted by tourism marketing experts Pangaea Network revealed that an international football tournament offers more of an economic boost to the host nation than any other sporting event.

Indeed, Samantha Gore, sales manager for real estate agent uv10.com, claimed that South African real estate values jumped by 35 per cent in 2005 when the 2010 World Cup was confirmed.

Now Brazil is destined to host the event in 2014 and the country's minister of sports has suggested that it will bring in about $5 billion (£3.4 billion) and create over 700,000 jobs.

Property investors may want to set up international money transfers to Brazil now ahead of the likely rise in prices for property in the South American nation.
