An increasing number of Brits are looking to live in a home by the seaside, it has been claimed.

The report by Halifax revealed that coastal areas are growing in popularity for those who are moving regions within the UK.

It showed that 16 out of 20 local authorities (80 per cent) had the highest number of people purchasing accommodation by the ocean, rather than in other locations inland.

Martin Ellis, economist at the Halifax, commented on the findings: "Many people have sought to take advantage of the benefits of living near the sea."

For those who do like to be beside the seaside, using an international money transfer system to invest in an overseas property could be a possible option.

According to the author of Live and Work in Brazil, Romasa Story, residing in some areas of South America can prove to be cheaper than in Britain.

She explained Brazil is a popular destination for expats and tourists alike because of its brilliant sunshine and miles of white golden beaches.ADNFCR-1995-ID-19036129-ADNFCR
