Property investors are turning to solid and secure markets, such as America, it has been claimed.
Falling house prices have meant there are currently good deals to be found across the pond and this has increased the interest in buying homes there, explained director at Mayfair International Realty Annette Reeve.
There have been a lot of negative stories in the media about the housing market in locations such as Dubai, Bulgaria and Spain, causing people to avoid these areas, she continued.
In the United States, house hunters can buy good accommodation with the peace of mind it is a governed country, Ms Reeve added.
She commented: "The laws in the US are very strict so you can buy with security."
Brits looking to make an investment in America may wish to consider using an international money transfer system to help them seal the deal.
Earlier this month, Jet-to-Let magazine listed the USA as the third most popular country property buyers were interested in. Cyprus came in as the number one choice, followed by France.
