International money transfers to Egypt could be set to rise as the benefits on offer at one Red Sea port have been highlighted.

Port Ghalib Red Sea was presented with the award for best tourist port in Egypt by the President of the Maritime Transport Sector.

This is the fifth consecutive year which the port has taken the award, as the marina's owners have highlighted some of the benefits on offer.

Ibrahim Saleh, spokesman for Port Ghalib, said: "We are delighted that our International Marina, the cornerstone of our development, has won this acclaimed award for the fifth consecutive year, once again reaffirming our position as a leader in resort and property development."

Mr Saleh added that the nearby town of Marsa Alam was seeing competitive property prices and a young tourist market which, he suggested, meant that the area is "set to explode in the coming years".

Using an independent foreign exchange broker to make an international money transfer to Egypt could help save money if Britons are considering investing in property in the region.
