UK residents looking for a property in the United States are beginning to look further afield than Florida, it has been claimed.

Britons hoping to make the best of the recently improving pound may get more for their money by investing in a property over the pond soon.

According to Annette Reeve, director at Mayfair International Realty, people are increasingly looking at other areas of the United States to invest their international payments for properties.

New York is becoming popular along with ski resorts, she suggested.

"If you can get it right then you can fly in and out of New York for not a huge amount of money and some of the upstate parts of New York are lovely, so that's quite popular," Ms Reeve added.

Those planning to make international payments for a new property might want to first utilise a currency converter to check the current rates for pound/US dollar conversions.

According to Bloomberg, the pound has risen to its highest point against the dollar in over a week.
