Skilled professionals looking to earn a good salary should head to the Middle East and take advantage of international money transfers back to the UK, the findings of the latest expat study from HSBC show.
Research carried out for the global bank's latest Export Explorer Survey found that there are a number of 'hotspots' around the world where relocating professionals can enjoy strong salaries.
However, thanks to the good lifestyle it offers, as well as relatively affordable living costs, the Middle East region remains the most-attractive proposition.
Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in particular were singled out as offering the ideal all-round package for expats.
The report also notes the economic advantages of relocating to Singapore, with the high salaries offered by employers in the city-state meaning foreign professionals can send decent amounts of cash home via international money transfers.
At the other end of the spectrum, however, the HSBC study found that expats in Europe and South Africa are currently likely to be "accumulating the least amount of financial wealth".
