Now could be a good time to make an international money transfer to Spain for people who are considering buying property in the area.

Mack Stucklin, head of Spanish Property Insight, has suggested that now is a good time to consider buying in the country.

He said: "I think you can now find some great deals in Spain. You have got to look around and you have got to do a lot of homework and research.

"There is a lot of overpriced property on the market, but now you can get some really good value."

Earlier this year, the National Institute of Statistics revealed that the number of house sales in Spain rose by 15.7 per cent between June and July this year.

Estate agents expect that sales and prices will be boosted by the news that Paramount Pictures is due to open a theme park in the Murcia region.
