The leisure aspect of buying property overseas is attracting buyers to part with their money, it has been claimed.
Due to the current economic situation, people are not purchasing a home as an investment - instead it is the lifestyle it promises that is "really coming to the fore", explained property editor at BuyAssociation Paul Collins.
He cited Cyprus as such an example, where there are plans to build a new theme park, implying "there certainly seems to be a bit of movement towards the leisure side of things".
Mr Collins concluded this would attract more tourists to the island as well as more buyers.
Brits who have the funds to purchase a primary or holiday home in another country may wish to use an international money transfer system to help them with this.
In September 2008, Cater Allen reported over three million people were likely to invest in a foreign property over the next two years.
BuyAssociation is a website that offers advice to those who are looking to acquire an overseas house or apartment.
