The Office of National Statistics showed that Britain’s economy grew 0.8% in the fourth quarter of 2006. This left GDP 3.0% higher than at the same point last year and showed the UK economy growing at its fastest pace since Q3 2006. Whilst the economy has clearly recovered from the slowdown seen in 2005, growth remains unbalanced with the service sector far outstripping the production sector.
